     Welcome back to another school year!   On the last day of the week I will send home a weekly note regarding things going on at school as well as a sheet indicating how your child did during the week as far as homework.  Look for this sheet as well as the homework communication sheet…

     Instead of sending corrected papers home the last day of the week, as papers are corrected and recorded, those assignments will be saved and sent home with the student at the end of each day…  Look for those corrected papers in the parent side of the home folder.  Make sure you check your child’s home folder each night.  This is an important way we keep the lines of communication going.  If you have notes for me, send them in the teacher or Mr. Watts side of their home folder.  I will check that every morning.  If your child gets an F on an assignment, be ready to sign the sheet when it is brought home that evening.  I will also record that on the homework weekly communication sheet…  It’s a way to keep tabs on your child, as well as the weekly or bi-weekly grades emailed to you or sent by paper to you…

     As I mentioned at home visits, we will have a student teacher Sept. 13-Nov. 19.  Her name is Alexandra Smith, and she is from the Appleton area.  If you see her at church, in the classroom, or wherever, make sure you introduce yourself and welcome her!  She will also be including notes in these weekly class newsletters…

     Book orders are due Wednesday.  Thanks for sending cash or making a check out to me.

     The daily assignments are posted in the back of the classroom as well as on the David’s Star Grade 4 website (www.davidsstar.org, click on the school link, go to the Grade 4 tab), under Assignments.  I will try to keep that as up-to-date as possible…
